Open typography controls
Select the title clip and open Font, color & layout. Font choice, size, color, alignment, tracking, line spacing, and readability shadow shape the text without requiring a new title preset.
Use the inspector’s exact fields when a layout needs repeatable values. Keep text edits and timeline shortcuts separate by checking keyboard focus.
Set the hierarchy
Use a clear difference between a main line and supporting information. Shorten the wording before shrinking everything to fit. Tracking changes spacing between letters; line spacing affects the vertical rhythm of multiple lines.
Alignment should relate to the composition. A centered title and a left-aligned lower third solve different visual problems.
Review the moving background
A frame that is dark at the start can become bright during a camera move. Play the full title interval and inspect contrast throughout. Use a restrained shadow only when it improves readability.
Check the title again after making a vertical format copy. Safe-area placement, line wrapping, and visual balance can change with the canvas.
